GCS to Surplus Three Former Office Buildings 

Guilford County Schools (GCS) is moving forward with plans to surplus several of its former office buildings. The Board of Education indicated its intent to sell three GCS properties located on Eugene Street, Market Street and Washington Street.  

In 2024, GCS purchased its current headquarters, the former ITG Brands building located at 714 Green Valley Road, and began to occupy the space in 2025. The larger, more modern campus houses more than 400 employees, allowing for the consolidation of central office departments and a more efficient use of resources.  

The three surplussed buildings are in prime downtown locations. After first being offered for sale to the Board of County Commissioners, the buildings can then be sold at fair market value. Per an agreement between GCS and county leaders, proceeds generated from the sale of these buildings will reimburse funds issued by the county for the purchase of the Green Valley building.
